Purdue basketball looks ahead
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — Purdue basketball is already working and looking to next season after a tough overtime loss to Cincinnati in the NCAA tournament in March. Barring an early exit by big man A.J. Hammons, the Boilers know expectations will be high.
“You go to a big time university and the expectations and the pressure,” said senior-to-be Raphael Davis. “I mean, (you) just go out there and know you are a good team and know people know you are a good team and know that people know that people want to beat you, so that’s what you play for.”
Dakota Mathias, coming off an impressive freshman year loves the chance to improve.
“Tasting that success this year, I think, just fuels us more,” said Mathias. “Getting to the tournament, and we really should of won that game, so we know we are capable of getting to that point or even going further. So I think that will fuel us this summer.”
Purdue’s incoming recruiting class includes Carmel high sharpshooter Ryan Cline, who should make an impact.
