Runners spell out ‘Boston’ on 4.5-mile course

BOSTON, Mass. (WISH/AP) – Paying tribute without saying a word. That’s what a group of Boston runners did.

Wednesday, “One Boston Day” marked two years since the Boston Marathon bombing.

To remember those affected, a group of runners spelled out Boston with their run. When looked at on a GPS, their 4.5-mile course spelled out the name of the city.

Commemorative orange banners bearing a white heart and the word “Boston” on them were unveiled Wednesday morning at the site of the blasts on Boylston Street. A moment of silence followed at 2:49 p.m., when the first of two bombs exploded near the finish line on April 15, 2013.
