Alcohol sales coming to Coliseum during fair concerts

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – If you plan to see Meghan Trainor or Jake Owen perform at this year’s Indiana State Fair, you better be ready to scoop up your tickets Friday.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., but it’s something that will be for sale inside the Coliseum that’s quickly gaining attention.

After all the hype and excitement of the Indiana Beer and Wine Exhibit at last year’s fair, organizers are now opening up alcohol sales inside the Coliseum during the concert series. Organizers say the exhibit was a success and they’re ready to take the next step. They say offering beer, wine and spirits at concerts has become an expectation for many ticket buyers and with so many venues in Indianapolis, the Coliseum needs to compete during the fair.

For a full list of concerts at this year’s fair click here. If you do plan to buy a drink during one of the shows, make sure to bring your ID. That’s how you’ll receive the needed wristband. From there you’ll be able to buy a maximum of two drinks at a time. Alcohol sales will close 30 minutes before the end of the show.
