Schnucks recalls pasta salad for possible Salmonella contamination

ST. LOUIS (WISH) — Schnuck Markets is recalling a pasta salad sold in stores in several states, including Indiana, from April 2 to April 14.

The pasta salad could be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the company. The product was sold in 99 Schnucks across Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.

It would have been labeled “Chef’s Express California Pasta Salad” and sold by weight through Schnucks Deli and Chef’s Express departments.

Salmonella can cause serious or sometimes fatal infections in young children and those with weakened immune systems.

The recall is a result of recalled flat leaf spinach that is used in the pasta salad.

Customers may return any unused portion to a Schnucks for a full refund.
