Andrew Luck addresses state lawmakers

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck delivered a pair of speeches at the Statehouse Tuesday.

Luck appeared in both the Indiana House and the state Senate along with an entourage from Riley Hospital, and there was a purpose to the visit.

Luck is trying to raise awareness for a program called “Change the Play.”

And nothing, perhaps, raises awareness quite like throwing a pass to the House Speaker in the middle of a session.

Change the Play is a health and fitness initiative that is now in 100 schools. 20,000 kids have been reached.

It was developed by Riley with Luck’s help.

“Change the Play is all about empowering kids in our community, our state, to take on their health and have fun as they do it,” Luck told the Senate, “and that to me is the key. No kid is going to do anything that’s not fun. I’m not gonna do anything that’s not fun. I’ll tell you that.”

Both Houses passed a resolution in support of Change the Play.
