ISP: Megabus in I-65 crash was going too fast

EDINBURGH, Ind. (WISH) – A Megabus involved in a crash along I-65 April 13 was going too fast, an Indiana State Police investigation determined.

ISP officials said Tuesday there were no mechanical problems with the Megabus, which collided with a semitrailer. Multiple people suffered injuries, but none of the injuries were serious.

The Megabus driver, Kimberly Lane, was ticketed for speed too fast for conditions, meaning she wasn’t going slow enough to avoid hitting another vehicle.

ISP’s investigation also determined the Megabus had an incorrect USDOT number.
