Morgan County officers get trauma kits

MOORESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Officers in Morgan County are now able to respond to unexpected injuries a little more effectively.  Each officer is now equipped with a trauma kit.

Each kit costs around $85 and includes gauze, a tourniquet, pressure bandages and an open airway device – among other things.

The idea behind the packs was first suggested last year by Brian Anderson, a member of the Mooresville Police Department. Anderson asked Franciscan St. Francis Health officials to fund the project, which the hospital did at a cost of $8,000.

All officers with Mooresville, Martinsville, Morgan County, ISP and the town marshals of Monrovia, Brooklyn, Morgantown and Paragon, will get the packs.

Last year, IMPD issued the kits to all of its officers.
