Andrew Luck speaks about new teammate Andre Johnson

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – This season is another new beginning with many new faces for the Indianapolis Colts.

There will be a two week span of strength training, conditioning and an introductions for the entire team as they begin to work together for the upcoming season.

Andrew Luck, who grew up in Houston, said having Texan Andre Johnson on his team brought back memories.

“I said ‘Wow, Andre? Sweet,’” said Luck, when he heard about the Colts signing the veteran player. “I think I was in middle school when he got drafted by the Texans, so I remember watching and he got drafted by the hometown team and now I get to play with him. It’s cool. It really is.”

“They haven’t really teased me or nothing about my age. I think they’ll let me ease into it a little bit. There’s a lot of young guys here. But like I said, I’m just really excited about the opportunity, really looking forward to it,” said Johnson.

Luck didn’t let Johnson completely off the hook when they met earlier this week. “We talked about Houston. I hinted at the fact that I may have been pre-high school when he was drafted. It’s good though.”
