Long’s Bakery makes top donut shop list

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The website “Thrilllist” has come out with it’s ranking of the 33 best donut shops in the country, and it might not surprise you that an Indy shop made the list.

There were long lines as usual at Long’s Bakery today as they welcomed the national recognition.

The “Thrillist” said Long’s was chosen because of their yeast, cake, blueberry, and apple donuts.

Long’s customers say it’s nice the bakery made this year’s “best” list, but they’ve known how special a sweet treat from Long’s is for a long time.

Bob McClann has been a customer for 45 years.

“I think it’s great,” said McClann. “I think they’re the number one. I don’t come out to the track or 16th street without coming to Long’s Bakery.”

And you never know who you’ll see in line at the bakery. Today’s celebrity sighting – the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Thrillist says Long’s was also chosen for the price – just about 50 cents per donut.
