Friday evening at Clowes – a local crowd funded company, Life in the Moment will launch an App that was designed for Alzheimer caregivers. Life in the Moment was founded by local young Mom ( Ashley Bryan) whose Mother has Alzheimers and realized when trying to provide care for mom and get support for herself – there was nothing.

We have spent the last year, year and a half trying to develop a technology that not only delivers that deep knowledge that is clinically vetted so when you get there you can trust everything that you find but then we are supporting those families with all of these tools to help them get engaged.”

To celebrate the launch of the app – Life in the Moment and its sponsors have created a very cool evening that includes the screening of the Glen Campbell documentary of his last tour plus the movie titled is I’ll be Me. The title soundtrack to the movie is an Academy Award nominated song and Friday evening Glen Campbell’s son Shannon and Ashley Campbell will there to perform the song live.  Guests will sample food created specifically for the app called Memory Meals with recipes created by Cafe Patachou’s Chef Martha Hoover

Enjoy a Life in the Moment is a platform for loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease and their families. Providing vetted content for families, including video support that brings subject matter experts, peer-to-peer best practices and virtual support groups into the homes of families suffering with Alzheimer’s Disease. Making stage-appropriate support available at the time of need is the key to improving health outcomes for both the patient and the caregiver. Life in the Moment provides robust support aimed at reducing caregiver fatigue and closing the patient engagement gap.

Their web-based technology includes a suite of software tools that not only address specific caregiver needs but also provide time-saving support tools for ADL (Activities of Daily Living) support. For example, our nutrition software not only provides original brain healthy recipes with a nutrition guide but the software also enables users to plan their weekly menus by clicking on the recipes. LitM software then recommends other recipes that use the same ingredients to help reduce food waste. Once the menus are chosen, LitM software sends a grocery list to the user’s phone to eliminate that time-consuming task. Our nutrition application helps to inform, educate and support healthy eating.

Life in the Moment tools support other aspects of caregiving as well. Some of these functions include dementia-specific legal and financial planning assistance, enhanced communications tools to facilitate improved communication between family members and healthcare providers, a social platform that enables families to meet and plan social events with other families struggling with dementia and more.
