Guitarist recalls high school stage collapse
WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – “It seemed so surreal.”
Student Blake Rice was on stage Thursday night playing guitar for Westfield Washington High School’s performance of “American Pie” when chaos erupted.
Dozens of students were dancing on the stage when the orchestra pit collapsed under them.
Rice spoke with 24-Hour News 8’s Teresa Mackin and Scott Sander Friday morning.
