Listeria in GA plant prompts frozen veggie, smoothie recall

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A line of frozen vegetables and smoothie kits have been recalled after Listeria was discovered in the plant where the products are made.

Inventure Foods, Inc. announced the recall on Friday of their Fresh Frozen line of frozen veggies and some of their Jamba “At Home” line of smoothie kits after finding Listeria in its Jefferson, Georgia facility.

Health officials say the recalled products did not test positive for Listeria, and there haven’t been any reports of illness linked to the consumption of these foods. Officials say they have decided to err on the side of caution and issue the recall.

The frozen vegetables were sold in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The smoothies were sold east of the Mississippi River.

Anyone who has purchased one of these products is urged not to consume it and to destroy the contents and its package. You can call 866-890-1004, email info@inventurefoods.com or click here to speak with a representative.
