Boy with autism fighting back against bullies

ADAMS, Mass. (NEWS10) – Andrew is a typical 11-year-old boy. He loves to play outside, he’s a Boy Scout and a big history buff.

Andrew has autism and was recently beaten up by a group of boys. One of the accused attackers recorded the beating on his cell phone and then posted it online. That video has since gone viral and has Andrew, his family and his community outraged.

The recording shows rocks being thrown at the young boy. At one point, he’s hit in the face with a basketball.

The sounds are gut-wrenching. Cries from Andrew can be heard and at times he stands his ground and fights back. The boys also took Andrew’s bike from him and left him on the side of the road covered in dirt.

After Andrew’s community caught wind of what happened to him, they have rallied around him. One person gave him a new bike. Another gave him an iPad.

Police say the incident is currently under investigation.

Andrew and his family have one strong message: don’t bully.
