IMPD: Car flees after hitting two women

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police in Indianapolis are looking for the driver of a car who they say took off after hitting two women early Tuesday morning.

It happened on the city’s northwest side, at 42nd Street and High School Road, a little after midnight.

Police say originally, the women were riding in a car that crashed with another vehicle. The women then got out of the car, and that’s when police say a passing car hit them.

According to IMPD, the women were badly injured and transported to local hospitals.

Police say the car that hit them was traveling northbound on High School Rd. Officials with IMPD say they later found that vehicle nearby, which is described as a gold Chevy Malibu. No one was inside the car.

Officers say the women were passengers in their car. The driver of their vehicle also fled the scene following the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
