Chef unveils WISH-TV Burger for Red Kettle Cook-Off

Wally Bolinger, chef and owner of Wuzzlers and Red Lion Grog House introduces WISH-TV’s entry for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Cook-off: the Biscuits and Gray Burger.

Literally the day after last year I knew this was what I wanted to do this year.” Chef Wally

Start with the 100% Angus Beef (80/20 grind) for a juicy burger. Top is with cheddar and bacon on a buttermilk biscuit. Cover with sausage gravy and top it off with an over easy egg.

In addition to the WISH-TV Burger, Chef Wally whips up some Scotch eggs and lets us sample the Stuffed Portobella from Red Lion and more from Wuzzlers like our Cheetos Chili Cheese Burger and the Potato Skewers.

Celebrate National Salvation Army Week and 130 years of service to Hoosiers with us! Red Kettle Cook-Off is an opportunity to see how companies, organizations, volunteers and staff come together to do the most good.

The annual Red Kettle Cook-Off raises funds for The Salvation Army Bed & Bread Club and supports food and shelter programs in central Indiana

This year’s event takes place on Wednesday, May 6 from 11AM to 2PM on the west block of Georgia Street

The $10 lunch includes burger prepared by celebrity chefs, a side and drink.  For this $10, The Salvation Army will feed a family of four.

Over a dozen local TV and radio stations will be on hand to make burgers and compete for the Checkered Spatula, which will be rewarded to the best tasting burger (officially judged) and most money raised

Participants can “stuff the bucket” with online donations to specific media teams until midnight on May 5 to give competitors a head start

Last year The Salvation Army provided 105,000 safe nights of shelter and 509,000 meals to people in need in central Indiana
