Suspicious package prompts evacuation of some Avon homes

AVON, Ind. (WISH) — An Avon neighborhood was able to return to their homes after they were evacuated late Wednesday morning while police investigated a suspicious package, officials in Hendricks County said.

According to the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department, police were called to The Settlement housing addition. This is near 200 South and Dan Jones Road.

Dispatchers say the package did not contain any explosives.

Around 11 a.m., authorities were evacuating some houses in the housing addition so they could investigate further.
