Celebrities, fashion show highlight Women’s Empowerment Series

The 2015 Women’s Empowerment Series is an all-day event with empowerment themed seminars, speakers and entertainment geared to women of all ages and backgrounds. The Series was created to enrich the lives of women of color focusing on issues that touch and impact their daily lives such as wellness, education, career and relationships. Previous year’s events have featured Wendy Williams, Roland Martin, Susan L. Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, El DeBarge, Kem, Eric Benet and now for the second time Iyanla Vanzant.

Iyanla Vanzant, one of America’s most respected motivational speakers and life coaches and Star of the OWN Network’s Iyanla Fix My Life, returns to Indianapolis to headline the Radio One’s 2015 Women’s Empowerment Series event. The event takes place at TIME on Saturday, May 2nd at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Karen Vaughn, Program Director of Hot96.3, 106.7 WTLC and AM1310 The Light remarked, “In an effort to inform, inspire and entertain, the Women’s Empowerment Series is our way of saluting and serving the women of color in the greater Indianapolis area. It is truly a day of women empowering women.”

Along with Keynote Speaker Vanzant, this year’s Women’s Empowerment Series will also feature: American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, hip-hop pioneer and legend MC Lyte, R&B stars Lyfe Jennings and Omarion; star of For Better or For Worse actress Tasha Smith; prolific actor Brian White currently with a key role on Scandal. Plus Anthem VP/Human Resources Karin Sarratt, lecturer and motivational speaker Linda (LC) Clemons, gospel greats Smokie Norful, Tasha Page Lockhart and Tasha Cobbs, up and coming Indy gospel artists Judah Band and many more.

The all-day dynamic event is presented by Radio One’s Indianapolis stations – 106.7 WTLC, AM1310 The Light and Hot 96.3.
