IFD rescues dog from water

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A yellow lab was rescued from an Indianapolis river on Thursday by the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD).

According to IFD, Arrow is the name of the dog that was swept down the river. Though he tried to make it to shore several times, he was unsuccessful.

He traveled one mile, before he landed on a sandbar.

IFD was prepared to launch a full water retrieval effort, but the owner was able to make verbal contact to bring Arrow to her across the sandbar and to the shore.

Arrow was reunited with his sibling named Blitz, also a yellow lab, on the shore.
