JACKSONVILLE, Florida (WISH) — An NFL player is making headlines for asking a high school student to the prom.

Khameyea Jennings is 18 years old and has cancer.

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks visited her in the hospital as part of the Dreams Come True program.

“I talked with your mom, she said it was OK,” Marks said. “I heard you had a prom this weekend and I wanted to know if I can take you to prom.”

Khameyea said yes.

The program works with children and teenagers in northeast Florida who are battling life-threatening illnesses.

The Jaguars shared the video on their Twitter page Wednesday. Watch below: provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
