WGU offering scholarships to IT students

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Western Governor’s University (WGU) in Indiana is offering 25 scholarships to students pursuing a degree in information technology.

The scholarships will be for $2,000 each and is possible through a partnership between WGU, Hire Up and EmployIndy.

“WGU Indiana understands the importance of making flexible and affordable educational opportunities available to all Hoosiers,” said Allison Barber, chancellor of WGU Indiana. “These scholarships will offer an additional step towards building a stronger IT workforce in Central Indiana at a time when those skillsets are needed.”

Hire Up is giving $25,000 to create the scholarships, that will be matched by WGU.

According to their website, tuition and fees for one term in the information technology program at WGU is $3,035.
