Colts draft pick thrilled to come to Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – University of Miami wide receiver Phillip Dorsett thought he was good enough to be picked in the NFL draft’s first round, but picking up that phone call from the Colts in front of friends and family was even more than he could have imagined.

“I talked to the Colts general manager first,” said Dorsett. “Then they handed it to the head coach, then to the media guy, and just everything was going through my head at the time. It was a great feeling, and being able to hang up the phone and tell my family where I’m going to be is amazing. I hoped I could go first round, and in the back of my head I always thought I would go, and there’s always that doubt, but that doubt’s gone now.”

Cut from the T.Y. Hilton mold, Dorsett is small, speedy, knows Reggie Wayne who was the last Miami wide receiver the Colts drafted back in 2001 and is looking forward to learning from Gore and Johnson on how to don the Colts uniform for the first time.

Dorsett plans on being the next Hurricane star on the Colts roster.
