Ex-girlfriend accused in salsa jar attack

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A woman is facing a battery charge after police say she shattered a glass jar of salsa against a man’s face.

According to the affidavit for probable cause obtained at the Allen County Court House, Santeri Hill, 24, of Fort Wayne was with her former boyfriend at a Kroger in late March of 2015.

Court documents indicate Hill and the man were in the produce section of the store when she hit him on the side of his face with the salsa jar.

The glass jar shattered. Some of the man’s teeth were knocked out of place and his jaw was fractured.

The man was hospitalized. His jaw was wired shut with screws and braces.

Hill’s initial hearing is scheduled for May 1.
