One arrested in Seymour homicide probe

SEYMOUR, Ind. (WISH) — One arrest has been made in a Seymour homicide investigation.

32-year-old Daniel Combs has been arrested in connection to a murder on April 30. Combs, along with Jessica Jarrell, had previously been wanted in the case.

Police say 42-year-old Gilbert Engle of Seymour was shot and killed in the 200 block of North Chestnut Street.

Combs was arrested Friday morning by the Arcadia Police Department. Officers were dispatched after a report of a suspicious person. Officers found Combs in the 100 block of W. North Street.

Officers said that Combs provided a variety of names during the investigation before being booked as John Doe at the Hamilton County Jail. Combs was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.

During the investigation, Arcadia Police and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office identified Combs under his true name and as a murder suspect, and assisted the Seymour Police Department in its investigation.

25-year-old Andrea Hollin has also been arrested and faces a preliminary charge of armed burglary.
