Sentencing set for 4 men in 2013 home invasion

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Four men convicted of a violent home invasion will be sentenced Friday afternoon.  It’s a crime that rocked a north side neighborhood.

Friday, Adrian Anthony, Michael Pugh, Alexander Dupree and Demetre Brown will be sentenced after they were convicted of 35 charges each, including rape, criminal confinement and robbery. They each face 50 to 60 years behind bars.

In March of 2013 the men entered a home on 79th Street near College Avenue. They tied up a father. They also drove the mother to an ATM to force her to take out money. She also says they shot her and sexually assaulted both her and her 20-year-old daughter while the dad listened.

Anthony, Pugh, Dupree and Brown all pleaded not guilty to the charges.  Their trial lasted for 5 days in March.  A jury found them guilty after about a 10-hour deliberation.

Another man, Trae Spells, was also involved. He pleaded guilty to his charges.

After the verdict was read back in March, the mother who was robbed, shot and sexually assaulted spoke to 24-Hour news 8. She said they were happy that justice was served.

The sentencing for all four men is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Adrian Anthony and Michael Pugh are also awaiting trial in a second home invasion on North Spring Mill Road.  That home invasion happened just days earlier and only a few miles away from 79th street.  That trial is expected to start this spring.
