Uber, Goodwill makes spring cleaning easy with free pickup service

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The ride sharing service Uber is partnering with Goodwill to help make spring cleaning a little easier this weekend.

Uber will offer a pickup service for clothing donations and deliver them to Goodwill. The service is free.

This year the program has expanded to 50 cities across the country, including Indianapolis and Bloomington. The service started in New York, Boston and the San Francisco areas. Uber will also partner in several other cities outside of the U.S., like Amsterdam, Doha, St. Petersburg and Stockholm.

To participate just bag up your clothing such as shirts, pants and jackets, open the Uber app between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, click the “GIVE” button at the bottom of the screen then just wait for Uber to arrive. Uber asks that you bring the bags out to the car and to be patient since they expect Uber drivers to be busy.
