White Co. man pleads guilty but mentally ill to killing mom, sister
WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – One week before his murder trial was slated to begin, a White County man has instead chosen to plead guilty.
The prosecutor said a plea agreement was reached Friday with David Rodenbarger.
He pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, to two counts of murder in the deaths of his mother and 6-year-old half-sister in February of 2013.
He also entered a guilty but mentally ill plea to the Class B felony offense of confinement.
The plea agreement calls for an 80-year sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Rodenbarger’s sentencing is scheduled for May 15.
