Man killed in Hamilton County farming incident

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was killed in a farming incident over the weekend.

Deputies were called to the 19300 block of Summer Road around 6 p.m. after learning someone had been run over by a tractor.

Preliminarily, officials say 76-year-old Jimmie J. Adams of Noblesville and a family member were working on a tractor in a field and didn’t realize the tractor was in gear. Deputies say when the tractor started, it began moving forward with no one driving.

According to police, Adams tried to climb aboard the tractor to bring it under control but he slipped and fell in its path. Family members were able to help Adams and call 911.

Noblesville medics responded to the scene and worked to save Adams, but he died from his injuries before an air ambulance could transport him to a hospital.
