Avon man arrested on child porn charges

AVON, Ind. (WISH) – A Hendricks County man was arrested and preliminarily charged with two felonies related to child pornography.

According to the Indiana State Police (ISP), James Venable, 54, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of child pornography and child exploitation.

ISP said their investigation began on March 6. They obtained a search warrant and executed it on Wednesday.

Police said the search of his Avon residence revealed evidence that connected Venable to more than 10,000 files of child pornography.

If convicted on both felonies, the maximum punishment for Venable could be eight and a half years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.

Venable was transported to the Hendricks County Jail. A bond has not been set.
