Video of Army captain finishing challenge goes viral

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A clip of Captain Sarah Cudd completing the 12-Mile Foot March – the final event of the Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB) – is going viral.

The 12-Mile Foot March of the EFMB is awarded only to the those who attain a high degree of professional skill as a field medic. It’s considered one of the toughest challenges for medics in the US Army with only 1-in-5 passing.

The YouTube clip was posted on Facebook last month and has been viewed more than 1.2 million times. In the video, Captain Cudd is seen collapsing to the ground several times only meters away from the finish line.

School Expert Field Medical Badge Program Manager Lloyd A. Manson of the US Army said the march has to be completed within three hours and that “If you want it, you have to go get it.”

Captain Cudd was one of 46 candidates who finished the event on April 27.

This is her last few seconds of the 12 Mile Foot March. The Foot March is the last event of the Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB), and must be completed within 3 hours. If you want it, you have to go get it. Watch this video. This EFMB candidate wanted it, and she got it.
