Man in critical condition after near north side shooting
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was taken to the hospital early Friday morning after he was shot on the near north side, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.
The man was found shot on Sheldon Street, which is near East 25th Street and Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue. Officers were called to the scene around 2 a.m.
Police believe the man may have been shot nearby on Hovey Street, and then stumbled to the location on Sheldon St. where officers found him. He was shot in the chest, police say, and taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Officials haven’t released information about a suspect.
