INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Three Indiana State Police cars were damaged in three separate crashes in less than 24 hours.

The first incident happened at 7:30 p.m. Friday when a trooper was responding to a crash on I-465. A vehicle switched lanes in front of the trooper causing a rear-end crash, according to ISP. The trooper was taken to the hospital for complaint of back and ankle pain.

In the second crash at 12:40 a.m. Saturday ISP said a trooper was stopped for a possible intoxicated driver going the wrong way on I-465 near the 27 mile marker when a vehicle rear ended his car. The troopers car was shoved into the possible drunk drivers vehicle. He was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The final crash happened around midnight when a ISP officer was assisting Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers with a chase. Police say a car that had been reported as stolen was traveling south on I-69.

The vehicle then proceeded onto Binford Boulevard and Fall Creek Parkway and made its way onto I-65 south. IMPD officers attempted to halt the vehicle’s progress by setting up stop sticks near the Keystone exit around mile marker 106.

According to police, the chase ended after the vehicle landed in a ditch just after the Keystone exit. The ISP officer’s vehicle was also rear-ended. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Four individuals were arrested as a result of the chase.
