Indy women empowered on Mother’s Day weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On Saturday there was an event focused on empowering Indianapolis women.

WISH-TV teamed up with IU Health University Hospital and celebrity chef Elizabeth Falkner to help the city’s women “Ignite Your Mind, Body and Spirit.”

Elizabeth Falkner, the runner-up for the Food Network’s “Next Iron Chef,” was the keynote speaker. She spoke on many different topics including work ethic, performing well in a male-dominated industries and staying healthy.

“People used to say to me a long time ago when I was “just a pastry chef,” I mean, that’s what they used to think. ‘How could you trust a skinny chef?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, you should,” she said.
