Shooting victim shot in shoulder, upper chest on city’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A shooting on the city’s east side sent one person the hospital on Sunday afternoon, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials.

The shooting happened around 1:40 p.m. in the 10000 block of John Marshall Drive. That’s near 38th Street and Mitthoeffer Road.

IMPD said the victim was shot in the shoulder and upper chest area. The victim was awake and breathing when police arrived to the scene.

Paramedics took the victim to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for treatment.

Other details surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear.
