IMPD: Vehicle hits pole on Indy’s south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – There was a heavy police and fire presence on the south side of Indianapolis Monday morning after a vehicle crashed into a pole, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.

The crash happened at Madison Avenue and Orange Street around 7 a.m.

Police said only one vehicle was involved and that someone was hurt. Officials did not believe the injuries at the scene were serious.

Officers had southbound Madison Ave. blocked at Morris St. It wasn’t immediately clear when that would be back open to traffic.
