Indianapolis Colts fans react to NFL punishment for Tom Brady and Patriots

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Colts organization kept quiet Monday night following the NFL punishment handed down to quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Some die hard Colts fans did not know hold back after learning that Tom Brady will return from suspension to play the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on October 18.

Social media has been buzzing on Facebook and Twitter about the punishment with fans having mixed reactions.

“I’m actually shocked they did that much. I thought he would get one game. Pretty happy about four,” said Lisa Shepherd on Facebook.

“A four game suspension is a joke. He should have been banned from the NFL,” said another fan on WISH-TV’s Facebook page.

“Not enough punishment. Just smash em’ on their hand. Rings should be taken away,” said fan Kelly Palmer on Facebook.

The conversation didn’t end there. 24-Hour News 8 also caught up with local fans at Front Page Sports Bar and Grill in downtown Indianapolis.

Business was starting to pick up as news quickly spread. Some fans tell 24-Hour News 8 this is simply payback.

“Well, the only reason the DeflateGate happened because the Colts identified this problem in a previous meeting, so I think that our team is going to have a lot of motivation to beat them,” said one fan.

Other diehard Colts fan say they have no doubt their team will start off the season with a bang.

“I think the Colts have a great chance of beating them with Tom Brady,” said Colts fan Russ Kelly. “I think either way, the Colts are golden.”
