Body found in Wabash River identified as New Harmony man

NEW HARMONY, Ind. (AP) – A body found along the Wabash River last weekend in far southwestern Indiana has been identified as that of a New Harmony man who apparently drowned.

Posey County Sheriff Greg Oeth tells the Evansville Courier & Press that a State Police fingerprint examiner identified the body as that of 43-year-old Richard L. Little.

His body was found Saturday by boaters near the Harmonie State Park boat ramp about 25 miles northwest of Evansville.

Little’s death was ruled an accidental drowning by the coroner’s office, which found that his body had been in the river for more than a week.

Little faced two April warrants for his arrest for burglary and theft at New Harmony’s Working Men’s Institute, which is a library and museum.
