Firefighters battle Beech Grove business fire

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) – Emergency personnel were called to a building in Beech Grove Wednesday morning after it caught fire, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.

Firefighters were called to ADM Industries, Ind. in the 800 block of Bethel Avenue shortly after 8 a.m., near East Raymond Street and South Emerson Avenue.

Crews battled a fire in a machine that sifts flour on the sixth floor. According to ADM officials, the fire was not in the newly expanded area.

Police say Beech Grove officers were assisting firefighters with traffic control in the area. Twelve IFD units and four Beech Grove fire units responded.

Thirty-four employees and eight visitors were on the property at the time of the fire, but no one was injured.

ADM says they are investigating the cause and assessing the damage.
