Suspect throws bricks at police vehicles during chase

GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Greensburg say they arrested a man who threw cinder bricks at police vehicles during a chase.

On May 9, police were in the 800 block of Randall Street checking a business when they noticed a van leaving a storage unit at a high rate of speed. An officer attempted to stop the car but the driver refused and a chase ensued, according police.

The driver was pursued through Greensburg to State Road 3 north. During the chase the driver, identified as Travis Elliott, began throwing objects at the officers, including cinder bricks.

The chase ended in Rush County on East 525 South. Police say at that time Elliott left the vehicle and ran on foot. He was quickly apprehended.

Elliot faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with motor vehicle, resisting law enforcement, dealing methamphetamine and reckless driving.

Elliot was booked in the Decatur County Jail.
