Three men take school bus for a joy ride

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Three young men were caught on surveillance from inside a stolen Metro school bus as they went on an hour-long joyride.

Metro police are working to identify the men who took the bus April 25 from Pearl Cohn Magnet High School on 26th Avenue North.

The suspects, who took turns driving the vehicle, stole it around Midnight and drove it for about an hour, even hitting a utility pole at one point.

The minor crash caused damage to the bus’ passenger side door.

Officials said the video that shows the theft “by inexperienced drivers is especially concerning” since the bus is such a large vehicle, putting themselves and the public at risk.

Metro police also reported a second bus was taken the same morning from McKissack Middle School, but the suspects disabled the surveillance cameras.
