RUSH COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — The Rush County Sheriff’s Office wants the public to know that a recent teen suicide does not seem to have a bullying connection.

A 14-year-old girl from Milroy was found dead Wednesday evening, hanging from a closed bridge on North Railroad Street in Milroy.

Investigators deemed the incident a suicide.

Chief Deputy David Sliger released a statement Thursday afternoon. It said in part:

“Contrary to social media, there has been nothing in this incident shared to law enforcement, or the school system about bullying. At this time we do not have any information of, nor do we have any reason to believe that bullying was involved in this tragic incident.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
