Mother, daughter killed in collision with semi

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) – A mother and daughter died in a crash involving a semi Wednesday in Huntington, according to the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department.

The Huntington County Coroner’s office identified the victims as 77-year-old Linda Dykstra, of Wayland, Mich., and 54-year-old Rochelle Burch, of Franklin, Ohio. Both died from force blunt trauma.

According to the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department, Burch ran a stop sign on U.S 224 near I-69 just after 11 a.m. Her car was hit by a semi, knocking it off the road.

Both Burch and her mother were declared dead at the scene by emergency crews. The semi driver was not injured in the accident.
