Pence orders flags at half-staff Friday for Peace Officers Memorial Day
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has ordered flags at state facilities to be flown at half-staff Friday in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
The governor’s direction comes after President Obama signed a proclamation ordering flags nationwide be flown at half-staff.
Pence encourages all businesses and resident to follow suit. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
Peace Officers Memorial Day honors federal, state and local officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.
