Southeastern Ind. HIV cases up to 155

SCOTT COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — The number of HIV cases in southeastern Indiana stands at 155, Indiana State Department of Health officials announced Thursday morning.

Officials say more than 685 people have visited the Community Outreach Center in Austin offering HIV testing, HIV care coordination, substance abuse referrals and vaccinations against tetanus, Hepatitis A and B.

More than 250 immunizations have been administered through the center.

An estimated 12,632 needles have been brought in through the Scott County needle exchange program.

Officials are working to extend the needle exchange.
