102-year-old fan to throw first pitch in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (CNN) – At 102 years old, a Wisconsin woman will soon toss out the first pitch at a Milwaukee Brewers’ game.

Gladys Holbrook says she’s been a fan for a long time. She says a friend of hers submitted her name to the Brewers, and the team picked her.

Holbrook will take to the field when the Brewers face off against the Diamondbacks later this month.

“Well, I’m a little nervous about it,” Holbrook said, “but I didn’t think anybody was going to make this much out of it. I just thought this would be some little simple thing.”

When she was asked about the key to a long life, she said, “Just keep breathing.”
