Football benefit in memory of Lauren Hill

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Tornadoes donated all gate ticket sales to a charity dedicated to ending cancer in memory of Lauren Hill on Saturday.

Hill was from southeast Indiana and played basketball for Mount Saint Joseph. She raised more than $1 million for charity before she died in April.

Hill’s family was at the minor league football game on Saturday night to receive a gift in her honor.

“We’re just proud to be here, honored to come up here and even help the cause. So, we’re just really proud to be part of this,” said Brad Hill, Lauren’s uncle.

The Tornadoes said Lauren was an inspiration and that she embodied the spirit of never giving up.
