Taylor Swift makes history at Billboard Music Awards

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Taylor Swift made history Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards. Not only was she praised for her winnings, but she was also acknowledged for her new music video “Bad Blood.”

Swift took home the most Billboard awards of any artist in the show’s history. She left with eight wins:

  • Top Billboard 200 Album “1989”
  • Top Billboard 200 Artist
  • Top Hot 100 Artist
  • Top Digital Songs Artist
  • Top Streaming Song (Video) “Shake It Off”
  • Top Female Artist
  • Billboard Chart Achievement Award
  • Top Artist

“Oh, this is such a good night! Early this morning I watched my brother Austin graduate from Notre Dame, (and) to anyone who’s graduating this year, this is for you,” Swift said to the crowd.

After winning the awards, Swift debuted her action-filled music video for “Bad Blood,” starring Selena Gomez, Kendrick Lamar, Lena Dunham and others.

The song is rumored to be about Swift’s rival Katy Perry.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, she confessed her music video was inspired by a female musical artist who tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. The article said a handful of Swift’s backup dancers on her “Red” tour were apparently snatched by Katy Perry for her “Prism” tour.

Despite the drama, she was overall pleased with the debut.

“I am so excited I got to show the world,” she told the audience.

Swift wasn’t the only one excited about her new music video. Celebrities and fans praised her for her work on social media, too.
