Teen killed in Randolph County crash

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – One person died Monday in an early morning crash in Randolph County, police officials said.

Officers responded to the single-vehicle crash around 12:30 a.m. on State Road 28, west of County Road 475 West.

Preliminarily, police say the 2004 GMC Envoy was eastbound on SR 28, just west of CR 475 W, when the vehicle went off the north side of the road. Investigators say the vehicle hit a tree head on before landing on its side.

Police say 19-year-old Morgan Qualls, of Ridgeville, died at the scene. A 17-year-old and 3-week-old in the vehicle were treated at the scene by medics and released.

The crash is under investigation.
