Annessa Chumbley shows us the versatility of the avocado

Registered Dietician Annessa Chumbley demonstrates how versatile avocados are both in and out of the kitchen. A plant based fat is one of the healtiest fats we can eat and avocados are one of natures boosters.

We are going to be talking about how versatile avocados are. I’m going to show it used in four different ways:

1. In place of butter on toast – try spreading creaming avocado on warm toast, mash it with a fork then top with sliced asparagus and toast. Sprinkle it with feta cheese and drizzle with a balsmic glaze.

2. As a sauce for pasta or a dressing for salad – try it as your go to for this summer.  Blend together 2 ripe avocados, squeeze of lemon juice and then add a mixture of your favorite herbs.  Grate in some fresh garlic.  While blending add a little water and olive oil.

3. As a Avocado- Chocolate Pop – only 5 ingredients cashew (or almond) milk, vaniella Greek yogurt, unsweetened chocoate powder, raw honey and your mashed avocados.  Blend and put into a frozen pop mold.

4. As a face mask – mix avocados and honey and lemon juice. Let it steep with some green tea.  Stir together and put on your face for 30 minutes.
