Indiana bikers head to D.C.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Motorcyclists from around the country are riding to Washington D.C. to honor soldiers who are prisoners of war or missing in action.

The Indiana Chapter of the Rolling Thunder left Thursday from the Indianapolis War Memorial.

The group will ride for two days to reach the nation’s capital.

Once they get there, they’ll join thousands of other riders for a ceremony including live music, guest speakers and a service.

“We want to make sure the men and women who fought for our country are never forgotten,” said Dick Harrington, chairman of the board for the Indiana chapter.

The organization held a special service this morning for the 51 Indiana soldiers who are unaccounted for from the Vietnam war.

They’ll arrive in D.C. on Saturday to prepare for the national ceremony on Memorial Day.
