SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — Josef Newgarden is set to start in the ninth position at the Indy 500.

Newgarden said he is confident going into the race.

“It’s a matter of executing. We could have a good solid day, but you never know how the race is going to transpire,” said Newgarden.

Newgarden spent a lot of his time during his teen years at the track learning the sport. He thinks that will help him have an upper hand during the race. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
